An Introduction to us

Well, we've never tried a blog before but after reading a friend of ours we thought maybe we'd give it a try since we are starting a huge transition in our lives. First of all, an introduction...we are the Cottrell Family. There are four of us, Gene, Melinda, Trenton and Spencer. We are currently stationed at Fort Drum, NY with the United States Army's 10th Mountain Division. We've been here for six years, but will retire and leave here in eight months. That is the transition. I'm a 1SG in the Army and I'm currently assigned as the 1st Brigade Rear Detachment Sergeant Major, that takes a lot of time, but I'm also the Bishop of the Watertown Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that takes up the rest of my time, but I wouldn't have it any other way. My wife, Melinda, is the Stake Young Women's President for the Utica Stake and also works as a special needs aide in the Watertown School District. Trenton graduated from high school last year and is currently waiting for his mission call to arrive. Spencer is a senior this year and is making the most of it.
